"Protector of the people"

From his studio in Tairāwhiti Gisborne, Sir Derek Lardelli creates stunning pieces of artwork inspired by his vision.

Manu (the bird) is a Kaitiaki (protector or guardian) of the people. This piece creates a striking visual in its use of dimension and textures.

This one of kind piece is created from native timber and measures 1300 x 800 mm.

The kaitiaki (protector) will be provided to its new owner upon the close of the exhibition in late November.
